Deck Hatch and Portlight Repair
We stock a full line of hatch repair parts and offer factory authorized repair solutions for all your crazed and leaking hatches.
Replacement of your old, faded, scratched, cracked, crazed and leaking hatches not only beautifies your vessel, but gives you the peace of mind against the unthinkable, a hatch failing under the load of a storm, or under the pressure of a crew member. The repair process is painless.
- Remove the hinge pins and disconnect lid from the deck. (We can help you with the specific directions on your model hatch.)
- Package the hatch along with handles in a sturdy box for shipment.
- Ship to Select Plastics Marine Fabrication Department, via UPS, FedEx or US mail.
- Upon receipt of your hatches, Select will fax, email or mail and call you with an estimate for the replacement and reseal of all necessary parts. You must sign the quote and return it to Select Plastics. We will, within two to three weeks, ship your hatches back via UPS.
- Hatches will be guaranteed leakproof for a period of one year from the date of repair. Copies of the "Hatch Warranty" are available upon request.
- Cost of repair is significantly less than half of the cost of a new hatch including deck modifications and installation. All parts and processes utilized during the hatch repair process are Lewmar reviewed and approved.
- At the request of our staff engineers and the recommendation of Lewmar Marine LTD, Select will only replace hatch lenses with domestically produced Cell Cast Acrylic sheet products. Our testing has shown that cell cast acrylic sheet is far superior in the demanding marine environment.
Although Select Plastics prefers LewmarŽ as its hatch of choice, we are qualified to and currently service all makes and brands of marine ports and deck lights including, Atkins & Hoyle, Nibo, Hood, Bomar, Goiot, Vetus and all others.

Designs can be submitted via email using IBM format .dxf or .dwg file extensions. You may also fax drawings, specification or prints to Selects' Marine Fabrication department.
